THIS is the luxury five-star cruise liner which arrived at Newport Docks yesterday lunchtime.
Standing at 410ft long and 52ft wide, Le Diamant will be home to hundreds of overseas visitors for the next few days.
Guests, who have travelled from America and Europe, will stay on board the city's first "floating hotel" until Monday.
Holidaymakers have paid anything between £3,132, for a standard cabin to £6,857, for the privilege of a deluxe owner’s suite.
This will provide the golf fans with five night’s accommodation, meals, use of all the ship's facilities and general admission to the Ryder Cup from Friday to Sunday, as well as today's practice round and opening ceremony.
Shuttle buses will take the guests to one of the park and ride sites where they will be transported to the Celtic Manor.
The cruise liner was built in 1986 and can accommodate 226 people, who can enjoy its onboard casino, two restaurants, a hair salon, boutique, library, fitness centre and show lounges.
