AS the competition hots up on the Celtic Manor course, a Ryder Cup battle is also being played out in the charts.
Two songs released this week to mark the start of the world's biggest golf tournament, with Wales' official Ryder Cup song by Abergavenny-born soprano singer Sara Kempe released on Monday.
The 20-year-old performed 'Let Me Fly', which was written especially for her by composer Ben Robbins, at the VIP gala dinner before the Welcome to Wales concert at the Millennium Stadium last night.
But award-winning Cardiff singer and keen golfer Martyn Joseph has also written a Ryder Cup song called 'On This Celtic Morning'.
Mr Joseph, who competed in the British Amateur, British Youths and British Boys championships as a teenager, has received support for his song from former Europe Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer and former First Minister of Wales Rhodri Morgan.
