SEVERAL golf clubs a short distance away from the Celtic Manor have reported an increase in business during the competition.
Brian Lee, golf pro at The Parc golf club, Coedkernew, said their course is located close to the park and ride at Tredegar Park and fans had been playing before going to see the action.
"We've heard some strange accents around. We've had Scandinavians and Americans coming to play," he said.
Former Ryder Cup star Phil Price is a regular at the course and surprised some with his presence this week, he added.
Greenmeadow golf and country club's Mark Woodman, who works in sales, said their takings were up £200 to £300 per day.
"There's been lots of different people including the Dutch and the Swiss," he said.
