A NEWPORT Second World War veteran has been honoured by the Greek government for his service to the country.
Leslie Thomas, 82, was a Royal Naval signaller in a flotilla clearing mines from the Adriatic around Corfu, and the Greek authorities sent him a medal for his efforts.
