TV WEATHERMAN Derek Brockway was in Monmouth yesterday to launch the Welsh Libraries Festival.
The festival, called ‘Fancy That’, encourages all generations of the family to try something new at the library, with events happening throughout Wales during January.
Activities taking place include yoga and pamper sessions, lessons on family history, computer courses and arts and crafts classes.
BBC weatherman Mr Brockway said he was set a challenge of trying something new at libraries across Wales and was learning how to make Welsh lovespoons out of sycamore at Monmouth Library.
Heritage minister Alun Ffred Jones also attended as well as pupils from Monmouth Comprehensive, who made friendship bracelets and had a question and answer session with Mr Brockway.
