A DARING Pontypool teenager completed a skydive raising £510 for a charity which helps his disabled cousin.
Tyron Blake, 16, did the 13,000ft tandem freefall parachute jump at Swansea Airfield to show his support for the Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre in Cardiff, which provides therapy for his four-year-old cousin Charlie Gould, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
Charlie visits the centre every nine months for intensive therapy sessions to help with her movement and to help her to carry out basic tasks.
Tyron, who completed the challenge in October, is a keen sportsman who enjoys rugby and athletics.
But the West Monmouth Comprehensive School pupil, who is currently studying for his GCSEs, said completing the skydive was one of his greatest achievements.
He said: “I was extremely nervous before I went up in the plane, but the jump was brill, when I landed I just wanted to go back up and do it again.
“It was a fab experience that was made all the better because I was helping Charlie and children like her.”
