PUPILS at a Monmouthshire school are preparing to recreate the hit West End musical “We Will Rock You” in Abergavenny next month.
Drama students at King Henry VIII Comprehensive will perform the world-famous musical, featuring songs by the rock band Queen, for the first time in a three-night run.
The cast, which includes Tom Mogford as “Galileo” and Nenagh Acock-Jones as Killer Queen, are led by director and drama teacher Miss Leanne Phillips.
“We Will Rock You” is a futuristic tale about a corporation which sends computer generated music to people around the world at a time when singing and musical instruments were banned.
A group of rebels led by Galileo and Scaramouche discover musical instruments and send their music to the people.
The musical features Queen favourites “Radio Ga Ga” and “I Want To Break Free”.
The show runs from Tuesday February 8 to Thursday February 9 at 7.30pm in the Upper School Hall. Tickets are £7 adults and £5 students.
