TODAY is the last day to nominate Newport residents who have gone the extra mile.
Newport City Council has teamed up with your Argus to praise Newport’s heroes at their Extra Mile awards ceremony on February 24.
The ceremony will celebrate the achievements, dedication and bravery of Newport citizens, while also paying tribute to council employees who have gone beyond the call of duty in their work.
One of the those nominees is carer Mo Medlicott who works at Belle Vue Park Care Home.
The former midwife-turned carer has been working at the home for the past nine years where she organising activities for the residents such as bingo, local outings and trips to church on Sundays.
Mrs Medlicott, of Lliswerry, was shocked and thrilled by her nomination and said she never wanted to do anything else but care for people.
To nominate someone e-mail details of why they deserve it; their contact details (including a phone number) and your name and contact details to Laura Doel, at laura.doel@southwalesargus.co.uk All nominations must be received by the end of today.
