A CWMBRAN lorry driver will confront his fear of flying to complete a charity skydive in support of his grandfather who is battling cancer.
Andrew Saunders, 32, of Thornhill, will complete a tandem parachute jump at Swansea airfield in May to help raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre.
The father-of-two, who is expecting a baby daughter with his partner Emma Draper, 25, in the next two weeks, decided to take on the challenge to give something back to the charity currently caring for his grandfather Derek Hawkeswood, 70, who is fighting brain cancer.
Mr Saunders said: “I have never done this type of thing before, I have never even been on a plane. I am petrified but I thought it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do and if I can do it for a cause then that’s even better."
Anyone wishing to sponsor Mr Saunders can do so online at justgiving.com/andrew-saunders2
