A PREGNANT woman found dead after a flat fire in Liswerry, Newport, today, was named as Nikitta Jade Grender.
The 19-year-old, who was heavily pregnant, was found in a first floor flat, after fire crews from Malpas, Maindee and Duffryn were called to Broadmead Park at around 7.50am.
The flat was severely damaged by the blaze.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said police and the fire service were working to establish the cause of death and the cause of the fire, which was said to be unexplained.
A post mortem was taking place this afternoon.
Specially trained officers are supporting Ms Grender's family.
