POLICE have begun a murder inquiry into the death of pregnant teenager Nikitta Jade Grender.
The 19-year-old, who was heavily pregnant, was found in a first floor flat after fire crews from Malpas, Maindee and Duffryn were called to Broadmead Park, Newport, at around 7.50am.
The flat was severely damaged by the blaze.
Following her post mortem and ongoing inquiries, police confirmed this morning that they have launched a murder inquiry.
Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Broadmead Park between 11pm on Friday and 8am Saturday, or anyone who has any information to call 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
