A RISCA woman has entered her fiancé in to the Argus Gwent’s Most Romantic Man competition.

Laura Salter, 26, met Dafydd Cowell, 25, nine years ago when they were both studying at Cross Keys College.

“My best friend was going out with his best friend, and we met when we all went bowling,” Miss Salter said.

The couple recently went through a rough patch but Miss Salter said they have come out of it more in love than ever.

She said: “We’d had a tough time, and he’d moved out of our home. We got back together after he spent the evening looking after our son for me to go out with a friend. When I returned, I found a video message on his phone, which was Dafydd telling me that he loved me and hoped everything would be okay. It was the most romantic thing he’s ever done.”

Mr Cowell popped the question at home at midnight on New Year’s Eve 2010, as fireworks went off in the background at their Elm Drive home.

“He always leaves me notes before I go to work as a romantic gesture,” she added.
