King Henry V111 Comprehensive School, Abergavenny.

WITH Queen classics such as We Are The Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody, this show certainly rocked the first night audience.

They loved the cloned world of Planet Mall where the only music is computer--generated, until the Bohemians burst on the scene.

This is technically a very difficult show for children but the pupils from King Henry School certainly rose to the challenge.

Tom Mogford always gives a polished performance and as Galileo this show was no exception. It helped that he had Kelly Whistance as his sidekick Scaramouche, and their strong, pure voices blended perfectly. Her cryptic one-liners added humour and was the perfect foil for his timid temperament.

Equally well matched were Joe Cox as Britney (Spears that is) and Alys le Moignan as Meat (Loaf). Their stage presence was larger than life and twice as noisy. Alex Williams was outstanding as the commanding figure of Khashoggo, until he was cowed by the ruthless Killer Queen (Nenagh Acock Jones) who rules Planet Mall with a rod of iron, brainwashing any dissidents. Keane Davies is a chip off the old block (dad Keith is aka Elvis)with his portrayal of ageing rocker Pop, to whom the Bohemians turn when they want to break free and discover the lost world of rock and roll.

What a pity the show ends tonight. many people will miss a real treat.
