QUESTIONED: Carl Whant
POLICE are tonight continuing to question a Newport man on suspicion of murdering teenage mum-to-be Nikitta Grender, after a second extension was granted.
The 26-year-old man, named locally as Carl Whant, was arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of Misss Grender's murder.
Police were granted a further 12 hours to question him in custody this morning, which expired at 10pm.
A Gwent Police spokewoman said at 11.30pm that officers had been granted a further extension to question the man.
