A CWMBRAN school is set to welcome a Royal visitor for its officially opening next week.
Princess Anne will visit Nant Celyn Primary School on Monday to unveil a special commemoration plaque.
The school is the first new primary schoolto be built by Torfaen Council sinces its formation in 1996 and replaced Brookfield and Hollybush schools.
Construction of the 420-place school began in July 2009 and the school opened its doors to pupils in September.
Nant Celyn head teacher Amanda Jones said: "We are over the moon with our new school. The resources are of a very high standard. The children have a lot of fun using and exploring the technology here, which many of them are experiencing for the first time.
Each of classrooms at the state-of-the-art school is equipped with interactive whiteboards and most pupils have access to their own laptops.
The school also has its own TV and recording studio to allow pupils to develop their presentation skills.
