A MOTORCYCLIST killed at the weekend was named by police as Daniel Walker from Cwmbran.
Mr Walker, 23, died on Saturday afternoon after the purple Suzuki motorcycle he was riding collided with a Volkswagen Passat between Usk and Gwehelog.
Emergency services were called to the incident at a place known locally as the old Monmouth Road around 2.05pm.
Mr Walker was taken to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital, but he was pronounced dead.
A tribute group set up on the social networking website Facebook in memory of Mr Walker described him as a "down to earth person" and a "great friend".
One tribute read: "You were my hero and my soul mate, now my angel in the sky watching over us all."
Another said: "I'm proud to say I was one of your mates and not a day will pass we all won't think of you. Good man, you were the best."
Another message read: "Will be missed by many people. One in a million Dan, always be in our thoughts."
Gwent Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident on Saturday to contact them on 01633 642104.
