A MAN arrested on suspicion of assaulting a Llanelli rugby player who later lost the sight in one eye will face no further action, police said today.
Gavin Quinell lost sight in his left eye following an incident during a match against Cross Keys at Pandy Park on October 2, 2010.
Gwent police said no further action would be taken against the 26-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.
Mr Quinell, brother of former Wales internationals Scott and Craig, was told he had lost his sight in his left eye at Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital.
