WEST end star Caroline Sheen will join performers from all over Gwent at a gala concert to raise funds for Newport’s Dolman Theatre.
The former Caerleon Comprehensive pupil, who has just finished a 13 month tour of America in the title role of Mary Poppins, will take to the stage on March 19 to support the event organised by Newport Playgoers Society.
The New Venture Players, Newport Operatic Musical Society, We Are What We Are Musical Youth and Sharon Fitzgerald School of Dance will also perform at the event, with all proceeds going to help fund the ongoing maintenance and running of the theatre.
Ms Sheen, whose cousin is Hollywood star Michael Sheen, started her acting career with Cwmbran Operatic Society and the Gwent Youth Theatre before moving onto the National Youth Theatre of Wales and Guildford School of Acting.
She has starred in West End musicals including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mamma Mia and has appeared on television in Hotel Babylon, Doctors and Torchwood.
Tickets for the gala, which will also including performances from Newport Playgoers, S.T.C Musical Society and the Vanessa Clarke School of Dance, cost £15 which includes canapés and champagne on arrival.
