TWO Newport businessmen will cycle the length of Wales in an effort to raise £20,000 for St David’s Foundation Hospice Care.
Steve Sulley, marketing manager of city chartered accountants firm UHY Peacheys, and Mike Jordan, director of creative and digital design agency Bluegg Creative, will join a team of 19 Welsh businessmen to cycle from Holyhead to Cardiff Bay next month.
The four-day challenge, called “Whose bright idea was this?” will see the men cycling up to 65 miles a day from April 3 to 7.
Neither men are experiences cyclists, but have been training hard over the last few weeks to get ready for the 260 mile ride.
Mr Jordan, who had not ridden a bike since he was 12 before taking on the charity challenge, said he was currently training three or four times a week, while Mr Sulley is cycling to work in Newport from his Chepstow home in his effort to prepare for the ride.
Mr Jordan, whose company Bluegg Creative has been in Newport since 2004, added: “We’re really looking forward to it. I’m nervous – it’s a long way - but I have already bonded with the guys and will be a great experience.
“It’s a good way to give something back and raise a bit of money for a charity which does some fantastic work.”
