BLAENAU Gwent Council’s annual big spring clean event is taking place in Nantyglo this year – and it is looking for volunteers.
The clean-up has been organised as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s Valleys Spring Clean Week 2011, which runs from May 9 to 16 and will take place on Thursday, May 12, starting at 10am.
The areas of Waunheulog and Winchestown will be the start of cleaning activities with plans to extend to Lakeside, Lakeside Retail Park and Parc Nant-y-Waun if there are sufficient volunteers.
As well as cleaning up any litter there will be work to cut back any overgrown and untidy areas.
The meeting point is at the Action For Children Centre in Waenheulog, 10am.
If you would like to get involved – wherever you live in the county borough – contact Lindsay Sims on 01495 355919 or e-mail lindsay.sims@blaenaugwent.
