A BLAENAVON man has died in a three vehicle crash in Varteg.
THe man was killed when the black Suzuki 1,000cc he was riding collided with a car and a Ford Transit van at around 5pm this afternoon.
The biker was travelling along the B4246 Varteg road from Garndiffaith towards Blaenavon.
A woman driving the car and a man driving the van were travelling in the opposite direction.
The woman was taken to Nevill hall Hospital, Abergavenny as a precaution and the van driver was uninjured.
Inspector Nick McLain of Gwent Police was leading the investigation last night and appealed for anyone who may have seen the accident of the biker before the crash to contact police.
He said someone may have seen something that seemed unimportant at the time but urged people to get in touch.
The road, which is in a very remote area, was not covered by CCTV.
The road is cordoned off at the Crown Hotel, Varteg and will remain closed for the next few hours.
Firefighters from Blaenavon and Malpas were called to the scene but were not needed.
