MOTORCYCLIST Jason Powell, who died in a road traffic collision on Friday was described as “a loveable rogue” who was “loved by everyone”, in a tribute released by his family.
Mr Powell, 45, landlord of the Queen Vic, Blaenavon, was killed when the motorbike he was riding was involved in a crash with a car and van on the B4246 Varteg Road between Blaenavon and Garndiffaith, at 5pm on Friday.
His family released a statement through Gwent Police, which read: “Jason Powell is known to everyone as Pow. Pow will be dearly missed as a friend to the locals, as a husband to Natalie, a dad to Nischa and devoted bampi to Bailey.” It added: “Pow was a loveable rogue and loved by everyone as the landlord of the Queen Vic, Blaenavon.”
On Saturday lunchtime, the pub was full of heartbroken friends, who had gone to pay their respects.
These included his best friend Marc Jones, who described him as “the most caring and loving person you’d ever meet in your life”, adding: “I will miss him every day of my life.”
