LABOUR will seek to form a minority administration in the new Welsh Assembly, First Minister Carwyn Jones has said.
The party missed out on an overall majority by just one seat in last week's election.
Following the result, Mr Jones's party staged a number of informal talks with other parties before announcing today that it would go it alone.
Mr Jones said: "Given the result, it was patently clear that the will of the people of Wales was that the next Welsh Government should be Labour-led.
"Various discussions have taken place in recent days, both inside our party and with others too.
"As a result, I will seek to form a Government later this week consisting solely of Labour ministers.’’
