THE Dean Forest Railway in conjunction with the South Wales Argus is pleased to offer two family tickets to attend its Day Out With Thomas event on either Saturday, June 4, or Sunday June 5, 2011.
Thomas will be visiting the Dean Forest Railway from the island of Sodor and helping the Fat Controller to keep things in order.
The railway can be found at Norchard, just north of Lydney, and the gates are open at 9.30am with Thomas on view from 9.45am.
There is a large free car park, café, well-stocked shop and award-winning museum. This must be one of the best value-for-money family events in the area, with interest for three generations!
Included in the entrance price are three train rides, including brake van rides with Thomas with a certificate for all children, the main Steam Train ride and a trip into the forest on Daisy the Diesel with themed “Thomas”
story. Face painters, Punch and Judy, miniature railway, roundabout, live re-enactments, Thomas colouring, desktop toys, stickers, stories, videos and temporary tattoos are all available – just try to fit it all in!
Entry is available either on the day or you can save £s by booking in advance online via our website at www.dfr.co.uk To enter the competition for one of the free family tickets just tell us what time Thomas is first on view at Norchard. Entries should be sent to Day Out With Thomas competition, Newsroom, South Wales Argus, Cardiff Road, Newport, NP200 3QN or email: competitions@southwalesargus.co.uk.
Competition closes, 25/05/2011.
