THE FAMILY and friends of a Langstone boy who died from a brain tumour will complete a sponsored Glow Walk in his memory.
The Argus previously reported how Daniel Munson died on August 2 last year aged just 12 after being diagnosed with a brain stem glioma.
Now his family and friends including mum Carrie Evans and pupils from Daniel’s old schools Caerleon Comprehensive and Langstone Primary will be taking part in a four-mile sponsored Glow Walk to raise funds for the Christian Lewis Trust, a children’s cancer charity which helped Daniel.
Gates will open at 6pm on May 21 at Caerleon Comprehensive School with the four-mile walk starting at 7.30pm.
The walk will follow the cycle path by the River Usk and back to the school again.
Everyone doing the walk is invited to wear a special glow band which are available for £2 each on the night.
There will also be a Zumba warm-up at the event as well as a performance from the Welsh National Opera and refreshments.
Chinese lanterns, which will be sold at £3 each, will be released at the end of the evening at 10pm.
Mrs Evans said: "The children all wanted to do this for Daniel.
We hope lots of people will take part."
Children and staff at Langstone Primary are also fundraising including holding a Promises auction.
