FOURTEEN firefighters spent two hours rescuing a lamb that was stuck 80 feet up a quarry face near Pontypool.
South Wales Fire and Rescue received a call at 3.07pm yesterday to say the lamb had become stuck on the Tirpentwys Nature Reserve, Pantygasseg.
Rescue teams from Malpas, Cwmbran and Barry attended, using five special appliances and rescue lines. After getting to the lamb, they were able to rescue it, and the animal was restored safely to solid ground.
