A NEW fund is set to give Portskewett and Sudbrook a £110,000 boost.
Monmouthshire County Council has set up the fund to be spent on local projects – adult and youth recreational schemes and children’s play projects in the two villages and neighbouring Leechpool.
The money must be spent on capital projects and no money will be handed out for the running costs of local organisations.
Bids for the money must be submitted by June 17. In the meantime the council will hold a surgery at Portskewett Recreational Hall tomorrow where prospective applicants may find out more and receive advice about the submission process and eligibility.
The surgery will take place from 1pm to 8.30pm.
Guidance notes and details of who is eligible to apply for the funding can be collected from the Portskewett Recreation Hall, Archbishop Rowan Williams Primary School, Portskewett Church Hall, the local Spar shop, Sudbrook Non Political Club, Caldicot One Stop Shop, Caldicot Leisure Centre and Caldicot Library, or by emailing mikemoran@ monouthshire.gov.uk.
