TWO Newport men yesterday admitted taking part in the £10,500 robbery plot of a market trader at his house in Sebastopol.
Joshua Henshaw, of Hendre Farm Drive, and Steven Myles, of Kier Hardie Crescent, appeared at Newport Crown Court yesterday having been charged with conspiracy to rob between December 1 and 31 last year and possession of an imitation firearm – a ball bearing gun – with intent on December 10 last year at the home of market trader Craig Pumford.
The 22-year-olds admitted both charges on basis of pleas which were accepted by the prosecution yesterday.
The court heard how Myles accepted providing the imitation firearm knowing it was going to be used in a robbery but said he did not attend the house.
Elizabeth Pearson, prosecuting, said Henshaw accepted he was involved in the robbery as he was the one who drove others to the scene but did not go in the house.
The men will be sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on June 14.
Henshaw was remanded in custody and Myles was released on conditional bail.
- A third man, Wesley Kenny, 22, of Traston Road, Newport, faces charges of conspiracy to rob and possession of an imitation firearm with intent in relation to the same incident.
His case will be heard again on June 10.
