AROUND 120 people took part in a sponsored Zumbathon for children’s cancer charity Latch in support of Undy toddler Olivia Morgan at the weekend.
The enthusiastic fundraisers packed out the hall at Magor Church in Wales Primary School on Sunday to complete the two-hour dance workout led by instructor Andrea Hale.
The event was organised by three-year-old Olivia’s parents Kate and Rob, who are still collecting sponsorship but are confident they have hit their £1,500 fundraising target.
Mrs Morgan said: “We just want to thank everyone who took part, it was amazing.”
Three-year-old Olivia was born with a condition known as Vein of Galen malformation, where vital capillaries are missing in her brain, and had to undergo surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
She later fought a strawberry hemangioma – a birth mark on her chin caused by an aggressive growth – before last year being diagnosed with leukaemia.
The youngster is still undergoing chemotherapy, which will continue until next spring.
