A TEN-year-old British Legion supporter raised £267 for the charity’s Poppy Appeal by completing a five-mile run.
Morgan Jones completed the Goytre Fun Run in just 52 minutes on May 2 having trained in the weeks leading up to the event with his dad Mike Jones, Gwent’s Poppy Appeal coordinator.
This is not the first time the Goytre Fawr Primary School pupil has thrown his support behind the charity, having now raised a total of around £600 from different events, including a 5k run in Cardiff.
The passionate fundraiser last week presented the money to the Marshfield and District Royal British Legion branch which, like other branches, is gearing up to celebrate the Poppy Appeal’s 90th year this in 2011.
