A POLICE operation was successful in tackling anti-social behaviour and underage drinking in Caldicot on this year’s school leaver’s day.
The Severnside Neighbourhood Team spoke to off-licences, asking them to be vigilant when selling alcohol and patrolled the local area to prevent problems arising on May 12.
Underage drinkers had letters sent to their parents and were referred to the Monmouthshire Community Safety Partnership’s ‘Prevention and Intervention’ project.
Only one report of antisocial behaviour was received throughout the day and police sergeant for Caldicot, Roland Giles, said he was happy with the results of the operation.
