A NEWPORT band is hoping to raise £10,000 for a city charity by donating profits from album sales.
The Dead Beggars Club are pledging ten per cent of the cover price of their new release Do or Die to the Life Music Foundation – a Newport charity that helps disadvantaged youngsters develop their music skills.
Frontman Matt Short hopes the funds raised will help thousands of children living in poverty across the UK.
He said: “The Life Music Foundation is an excellent organisation, and one we feel should be supported at every opportunity.
“By donating a percentage of profits of Do or Die, we’ll hopefully make a small difference to local children’s lives.”
The indie punk band has already taken hundreds of orders for the new album but hope to sell as many as possible in order to raise their dream target of £10,000.
Life Music Foundation chief executive Clayton Richards said: “We are very grateful for the band’s support and we hope people buy the EP in their droves.”
