BLAENAU Gwent council is asking residents for their views on the proposed use of new dog control orders.
The council is proposing to bring in three new orders following a public consultation.
The ‘fouling of land by dogs order’ will make failing to clear up after your dog an offence on all land which is open to the air and accessible to the public.
‘Dog exclusion’ orders will allow the council to ban dogs from entering a designated area.
The ‘dogs on a lead’ order will apply to specific areas where it will be an offence not to keep a dog on a lead.
Notices will be placed at the entrances and exits of 138 sites affected in the borough throughout the public consultation, which will run until June 20. Larger areas including Abertillery Park and Eugene Cross Park in Ebbw Vale will include exclusion and lead-only areas.
Dog owners who fail to comply with the order could be fined £75.
