HUNDREDS of people headed to Crosskeys this weekend for the fourth annual Big Green Festival.
Waunfawr Park played host to dancers, bands, martial art demonstrations and stalls as part of the Caerphilly Council run eco-festival.
Organiser Natalie Haynes said they were glad the weather held off and they were impressed with the turn out right from the off.
Youngsters got the chance to scale the climbing wall and build sandcastles in the urban beach, while adults could get a few green-fingered tips from stallholders and stock up on their plants for the summer.
Pupils from nearby school Waunfawr Primary School have been working hard creating art from recycled products, including sun sticks and butterfly wheels, over the past few weeks and they got the chance to show off their creations at a parade through the park.
Animal lovers were also catered for with Macaw parrots, tortoises and other animals including a hedgehog.
Demonstrations during the day included Zumba dancing, rugby skills by Newport Gwent Dragons players and martial arts from Samari Judo Club.
Visitors also had the chance to try their hand at archery, bowls, drumming and Tai Chi.
