JIM Jones of the Torfaen Carers Centre along with almost 50 other fundraisers iscompleting a sponsored bike ride to raise funds for the centre and also other charities nominated by the participants on Sunday, August 14.
So far these include the Meningitis Trust, Cancer Research, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Headway Brain Injury Association.
The Carers Centre in Pontypool town centre, provides help, advice and support to those in Torfaen that have a caring role.
These are people who provide both physical and emotional support to a neighbour, a friend, their mums, dads, husband, wife, son, daughter, who would not be able to manage without their help.
While many people don’t even think of themselves as carers, there is an estimated 13,000 in Torfaen alone.
The route the bikers are taking is following the Taff Trail starting at Sofia Gardens then up as far as Quakers Yard before heading back to the Prince of Wales pub in Risca.
