A NEWPORT woman was seriously sexually assaulted in the early hours of this morning.
The 18 year old was walking alone along Chepstow Road near Iceland between 3am and 5am this morning when a dark coloured car pulled up alongside her.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said the woman got into the vehicle and was driven to the Nash area, where she was seriously sexually assaulted in the vicinity of Nash Road and West Nash Road, close to the power station.
The man is described as white, between 50 and 60 years old, of large/fat build, bald and had facial stubble.
He was wearing small gold rimmed glasses, a short-sleeved navy blue top, beige trousers and braces, with dark loafer type shoes.
Police are reminding women to always pre-arrange a lift or book a taxi with a licensed and regulated taxi company.
Anyone who may have been in the area of Iceland, Chepstow Road or Nash in the early hours of this morning or recognises the man’s description should contact Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
