A TEENAGER from Newport is Mr Wales Junior 2011 for the second year running.
Kurt Davies, 18, took the title for the second time in 12 months despite having to juggle and gruelling fitness regime with Type 1 diabetes.
Mr Davies, from Malpas Road in Newport, was diagnosed with the condition at the age of seven, and has to inject insulin up to eight times a day to keep it under control.
But the teenager, who hopes to become a personal trainer, said it had not stopped him from from taking up body building after being encouraged to get into the sport by staff at Bodymasters gym in Newport, where he has worked out for the last four years, They helped him - and his training partner Joshua Gibbons - to plan a strict diet and fitness regime, and he entered his first Mr Wales Junior contest in May last year.
He took first place, and has since won Natural Mr Wales 2010, and been placed second in Natural Mr Britain 2010.
In the last two weeks he has won Mr England Junior 2011 and taken the Mr Wales Junior title for a second time.
Before a competition Mr Davies undergoes 16 weeks of intensive dieting and cardio exercise - all of which he manages alongside his diabetes.
He said: "I never really expect to win, but whenever I do I'm really happy and quite surprised."
Mr Davies said he hoped his example showed diabetes does not have to stop sufferers doing what they want, and he hopes to take the adult Mr Wales or Mr Universe titles in the future.
