THE world of folk dance and music will descend on Newport next weekend with the Tredegar House Folk Festival.
Some of the world’s leading dance and folk groups will be at the 22nd annual festival which this year runs from June 3 to 5 and promises to be more colourful and magical than ever before.
Dance groups performing include local groups such as Isca Morrismen and Gwerinwyr Gwent as well as international groups such as Belgium’s De Akkermennekes and Estonia’s Loksa Trantsijad.
Also included in the festival will be ceilidhs, concerts, craft displays and song sessions for people of all ages.
Newport MP and honorary president of the festival, Paul Flynn said: "It’s a friendly, creative riot of colour and sound, a great day out for the whole family and certainly one of my favourite weekends of the year."
