THE search for missing Gwent man Joel Andrews continued today as his family made a public appeal to bring him home.

The Argus reported on Saturday how Mr Andrews, 24, of Caldicot, went missing after attending an outdoor rave in Devon on May 22.

People from all over the UK, including family and friends of Mr Andrews, have been helping police search the Fernworthy Reservoir, on the edge of Dartmoor, and its surrounding area since where Mr Andrews was last seen on the morning of May 22.

His family also made a public appeal urging anyone with any information to contact the police.

They said: "Even if you think it sounds silly, it could mean a lot. Just a little bit of information could lead to a big thing. And Joel, if you read this, please come home.

"We are not angry with you. We just want you home. We love you so much and need you home."

Devon and Cornwall Police, who are leading the investigation, are also now keen to trace a group of people who were swimming in Fernworthy Reservoir on the morning of May 22 who they believe may have "vital information". They would also like to speak to anyone who saw these swimmers.

Officers, who are liaising with Gwent Police as part of the investigation, said Mr Andrews was last seen in the reservoir area at 10am on May 22 after arriving there with friends for the party at around 1am.

Mr Andrews had met his friends in Bristol at around 9pm the night before.

Mr Andrews is described as white, of slim build and around 5ft 10in tall. He has mousy brown hair, blue eyes and a scar on his chin.

He was last seen wearing a grey ‘Animal’ hooded top, blue jeans, a dark green waist length jacket and a camouflage cap.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 08452 777444 or Gwent Police on 101.
