AN award-winning French sax band will be among the musicians playing at this year's Raglan Music Festival.

The Crescendo Sax Band, from Raglan's twin town of Parce-sur-Sarthe, will give a free performance at the popular music festival on June 11.

Organisers said they were delighted to welcome the band, who will be the first group of musicians from outside the UK to travel to Raglan specially for the festival.

The Crescendo Sax Band draws its members from Parces Crescendo Wind Orechestra, who recently won first prize at the international competition for wind orchestras in Strasbourg.

They will play hits from the stage and screen at Raglan Baptist Church from 3.30pm on June 11.

The festival, which is now in its seventh year, will be headlined by art-pop band 10cc.
