SLIMMERS from Newport used their health-kick to help a national fundraising campaign by completing a one mile walk.
The members of five slimming groups joined forces for the event around Newport Stadium.
The 50-strong group, who attend classes in Ringland, Beechwood, Moorland Park, the Gaer and High Cross, sported Slimming World t-shirts for the fundraiser.
The son of the founder of the organisation, Ben Miles, is in the middle of a 6,000km cycle ride across Europe to raise money for disadvantaged children.
Members of the weight loss groups across the UK have been encouraged to support this by doing their own challenges.
Slimming World consultant Katie Thomas said around £500 was raised from event held earlier this month.
She said: "A few of members are going to meet up for walks around the local area to help with their weight loss, they enjoyed it that much."
