FLATS at the former Newport Art College could be on the market this autumn.
Andrew Hughes of Alder King said the conversion project to turn the iconic building into 66 luxury apartments is due to be completed in late October.
The one-bedroom to four-bedoom flats will then go on the market.
Mr Hughes, who became reciever for the building when the previous owner encountered financial difficulties, previously said the flats would be finished by the summer.
He added there was "nothing unusual to report" and that slight overuns were common with listed building conversions.
“We will appoint the most suitable marketing agent closer to the time,” he said.
Mr Hughes added that the works to the external fabric of the building are largely finished, with workers working to finish restoring of some of the building’s key features and fitting out of the individual flats.
In 2007 we reported that the flats were expected to start from £129,000, but with the property market having changed radically since then it is not known how much the flats would go for now.
Mr Hughes said prices will be set closer to marketing time.
