POLICE have charged a man accused of threatening to kill staff in an Abergavenny nightclub after brandishing what appeared to be a gun.
A 23-year-old man from Abergavenny was charged with making threats to kill and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
As reported previously in the Argus, the incident happened just before midnight on New Year's Eve at Love nightclub in Nevill Street.
Police were called to the club after reports of a man brandishing a weapon, which turned out to be an air pistol, and threatening members of staff in the venue, which had about 60 or 70 people inside at the time.
A man was arrested four days later in connection with the incident, before being charged this week.
He was released on bail and will appear before magistrates later this month.
