INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the cause of a fire which destroyed part of a Monmouthshire school.
Firefighters were called to Thornwell Primary School at around 1.06am this morning and battled the flames for more than four hours to get the blaze under control.
The infants building, including three classrooms, the nursery unit and a hall, was destroyed.
Fire investigation officers and police are currently at the scene, but it is not yet known whether the incident is being treated as suspicious.
