MEET three generations of one family who all work as barmaids in the same Newport pub.
Grandmother-of-five Pam Knight, 71, of Bettws, started working at the Pen & Wig on Stow Hill 24 years ago, but has now been joined by her daughter and her grand-daughter.
Her daughter, Rachel John, 42, joined her mum after Mrs Knight needed a bit of help at the bar after she had an operation on her leg.
Now Bianca John, 18, is also working there, earning a bit of extra cash part time while she studies.
Their shifts at the pub means however that they rarely all work together – although Mrs Knight said its like party night when she and Mrs Knight work together on Tuesdays.
Mrs Knight, who used to be a bus-conductor and is originally from Liverpool, said: “I didn’t expect when I started here that this would become a family affair! I didn’t think they would follow in my footsteps.”
