AROUND 1,000 visitors attended an annual folk festival in Newport over the weekend.
The 22nd international Tredegar House Folk Festival took place over three days and drew dancers, singers and musicians from all over the world.
The crowds gathered in several marquees to watch free performances by groups who travelled from countries including Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Africa in the grounds of Tredegar House.
Highlights of the weekend included the Ceilidh with Rig a Jig and performances from Torfaen-based Welsh folk dance team Cwmni Gwerin, Ukrainian dancers Veselka and Newport Celtic Band.
Chairman of the festival committee, Susie Oates said this year's festival was a great success with 300 musicians, dancers and singers travelling from far and wide.
"The festival is a unique event and draws crowds from across Wales and as far as Newcastle," said Mrs Oates.
"The weather was fantastic and the festival full to capacity, it’s been spectacular," she added.
