AROUND 25 neighbours in Abergavenny hosted a street party to celebrate this year’s Big Lunch.
Gillian Bilsborough, of Mount Street, organised the event, now in its second year.
Backed by the Eden Project, a Cornwall-based charity, the event is a national initiative which aims to get as many people in the UK to have lunch with their neighbours.
Mrs Bilsborough, who set up tables, gazebos and bunting, said: “Before we started doing it, we didn’t really know our neighbours at the other end of the street a great deal, but it’s really helped to bring the whole street together.”
