This immensely popular show is back and, by the look of the crowds, it could well be a sell-out this year too.
I’m sure that most owners of an under-five know all about Peppa Pig. For those of you who aren’t so familiar, Peppa is a loveable character who lives with her little brother, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. She has many animal friends including Danny Dog, Emily Elephant and Susie Sheep.
This show is all about Peppa’s birthday party and of course, no birthday party is complete without your very best friends.
There is singing, dancing, audience participation and a bit of a soaking, if you’re sitting at the front, when George starts to cry .
The young audience adored it and for just over an hour their giggles and enthusiastic cries filled the theatre.
There were no tears or tantrums just lots of very happy kids, singing, dancing and doing a bit of panto-style ‘he’s behind you’ shouting.
The skilled puppeteers enthralled them throughout.
Halfway through the performance there is a useful interval for toilet trips and ice cream.
There is note of caution though. If you don’t want to spend a fortune after the show it’s a good idea to blindfold your children when leaving the theatre.
They will be faced with an array of Peppa Pig merchandise and it is quite impossible to say no after the show has captured their hearts.
If you don’t manage to catch Peppa on her 2011 tour, here’s hoping she’ll be back next year. Get those seats booked – it will be worth it!
