A HIT and run driver caused around £2,000 worth of damage after reversing into a parked car before fleeing the scene.
Argus worker Ian Read was woken by neighbours who heard a crash outside his home in Henry Wood Walk, Alway, Newport, at around 1am on Saturday.
Mr Read went outside to discover a large dent and scratches along the entire length of his Vauxhall Astra company car.
The collision also caused a buckled wheel and a damaged front and rear wing, which he estimates will cost a total of around £2,000 to repair.
Neighbours reported seeing a man and woman arguing outside the house before the driver reversed his car into Mr Read’s and driving off.
Mr Read said he heard the revving of a car engine but did not think anything of it before a neighbour knocked his door to tell him what happened.
Residents who saw the incident described the car as a metallic green colour Ford Mondeo or Sierra-type car with an S registration plate.
Anyone with information is asked to call Gwent Police on 101.
