WORK has now been completed on creating new facilities at Blaen Bran woodland.
Torfaen council's neighbourhood services department and the Blaen Bran Community Woodland group have provided a new formal entrance and small parking area for visitors to the area.
The work has been helped with by £50,856 worth of funding from the Valleys Regional Park initiative with match funding from Cwmbran Operational Group and Countryside Council for Wales.
The money has helped paths to be upgraded and extra boundary fencing to be included to prevent motorbikes accessing the woodland.
New waymarkers now create links to the proposed Pilgrim’s route and Greenmeadow Farm.
Councillor Cunningham, executive member for neighbourhood services, said he was pleased the project has been able to provide facilities to allow visitors to access the countryside.
He said: "Blaen Bran is a wonderful area and an important gateway to the upland landscape of Cwmbran."
